Jennifer Lawrence and The Hunger Games Again Under the Spotlight

Jennifer Lawrence and The Hunger Games Again Under the Spotlight

February 1, 2013 By Leave a Comment

The MTV Movie Brawl is one of the funniest but also one of the most expected cinema events of the year, as it celebrates and awards the most anticipated movies of next year. So there is no need for us to be surprised that Catching Fire, the second movie adaptation of Suzanne’s Collins famous trilogy raised in 2013 around 10 million votes, bashing for good its adversary ”The Mortal Instruments: City of Bones” and winning the title, another sign that The Hunger Games has an incredibly powerful and loyal fandom.

Sam Claflin‘s speech was both emotional and modest: “‘I’m so happy and proud to say I’m a part of ‘The Hunger Games: Catching Fire,’ ” he said. “Just want to say a big thank you to all the fans worldwide for voting. I’m thrilled to know they are just as excited as I am for the next chapter,” said the actor during the event.

It was not an easy battle, as the MTV’s reporters already noticed: “Once the second consecutive trip to the finals was confirmed for “The Hunger Games” franchise, that’s when the real battle began. In a tournament that notched 10 million votes, the results pointed to a clear, 100,000-vote win for “Catching Fire” over “The Mortal Instruments.” The strong showing from the Shadowhunters proved that the YA adaptation is a force to be reckoned with.”

Jennifer Lawrence, on the other hand, tried and succeeded to mark some highlights on her own in her “solo” career. Although dedicated in body and mind to the Hunger Games, she didn’t back down to the challenge of trying complex roles, a lot different from the one featured in the series, roles that managed to win her the reputation of a talented actress with a lot of acting potential and a soft spot for comedy, in her attempts to prove she can handle royally any script. One of these roles is the one from the Silver Linings Playbook movie, which won Lawrence a Golden Globe not so long ago and more recently, a SAG Award. The Screen Actors Guild Awards is said to be an event which, just like the Golden Globes, has the power to predict future Oscar winners.

And may the odds be ever in her favor, as Jennifer Lawrence won the SAG Award for Best Leading Actress. She and Daniel Day – Lewis, the Golden Globes and SAG Awards winner for Best Leading Actor may walk the red carpet and leave the Oscar ceremony holding the precious statue, if these two predictors are correct.

It is unworthy to mention that Jennifer lived some embarrassing moments too during the SAG awards – because of her beautiful dress decided to tear suddenly and become a subject for the paparazzi – but Jennifer Lawrence is a beautiful person and a great promise in cinema, so an embarrassing moment (which she passed elegantly) is not a subject of importance.
